FAQ

General

We capture action, individuals, teams, presentations, and other sporting related images.
If it’s of interest for you or your team, let us know, and we’ll work with you to capture the image(s) you need or want.

We are situated in Adelaide, South Australia, and specialise in covering events within the greater Adelaide region.  On occasions we can also be found in areas slightly more afield within South Australia. We are also happy to discuss travelling options for locations outside this area, both within South Australia and beyond.

Digital photography has changed the game entirely. People want certainties they are going to get the end-product they are expecting, despite what could happen along the way. For this reason, we use multiple memory cards on location wherever possible.  After which images are backed up on a minimum of two independent computer systems, as well as a separate portable hard drive (this is archived into storage each year). While we can never 100% guarantee any method to be fool proof, we believe this system has the best chances of success for long term back up and retrieval of images.

Our normal contact/office hours are:
Monday 11am–6pm (online 10am–6pm)

Tuesday 11am–6pm (online 10am–6pm)

Wednesday 11am–6pm (online 10am–6pm)

Thursday 11am–6pm (online 10am–5pm, 9–11pm)

Friday 11am–6pm (online 10am–6pm)

Saturday CLOSED

Sunday CLOSED

Of course, these hours are flexible at times, due to the nature of the images we specialise in capturing.

Yes, our system has been set up to allow for credit card, debit card or cash on location. Alternatively, credit card, debit card, PayPal and direct debit can be arranged via invoice.  For direct sales on the website, credit card, debit card and PayPal are the current options.

No, once and image is listed as CC (Creative Commons) it becomes usable in ways that do not benefit either Aussie Photo Media or our Clients.  Each Assignment is given a usage rights agreement which covers the use(s) available for both our Clients and Aussie Photo Media.

FAQ

Media

Unless it is a pre-planned shoot, such as images for a Press Release etc., then our approach to media images is usually an organic one.  Media events, like press conferences, public launches, and openings, or general ‘news-worthy’ events can change at a moments notice, often without notice.  For this reason, we remain as flexible as possible when shooting media events, with the emphasis on capturing the moment(s) in an editorial fashion.  To retain the integrity of such events, images are also not altered in anyway.

Yes.  We hold accreditation with Motorsport Australia (formally CAMS), AASA (Australian Auto-Sport Alliance), and Motorcycling Australia. We also have a current Working With Children Check from the Government of South Australia Dept. of Human Services, and are a member of MEAA (Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance), and APS (Australian Photographic Society). All credentials and affiliations are kept up to date for your peace of mind.  We will be expanding this list as required to suit our clients.

Yes.  We hold a current Working With Children Check from the Government of South Australia Dept. of Human Services.

With an emphasis on professional photojournalism we carry the equipment necessary to have images to the source within 30 – 60 minutes of a finished event (in some cases faster).  This allows us time to quickly check the quality of images, and if necessary, make small adjustments to suit your needs (like cropping or colour correction).  We DO NOT alter editorial images in any other way.

FAQ

Commercial & Corporate

For regular Commercial and Corporate work, this can be up to 14 days and depends entirely on the agreement we make with each client.  For general non-rush assignments, we quote 14-day turn-around. This allows us time to properly make any adjustments necessary for your needs.  However, in cases where a faster turn-around time is required, such as a time sensitive media release package, we will happily discuss options for a different turn-around and delivery for you.

This is an area which often confuses people.  For most of our images, we retain the copyright.  We do however supply image use agreements with every assignment.  This can vary from a simple ‘Social media use only’ agreement, through to a more complex and complete usage agreement where the client has total control and unlimited world-wide use of the image(s).  In special circumstances we may agree to supply images with a transfer of copyright to the client, this however, is a rare occurrence and is quite expensive (in most cases).
Remember, the copyright itself does not determine where and when the image(s) can be used, that is the job of the ‘usage rights agreement’.  The copyright only determines the legal owner of the image (in most cases the photographer).

Yes, most certainly.  We appreciate that not all commercial and corporate images can be captured during regular business hours. Functions and launch events are often held outside these hours. We will arrange times to suit your requirements. Just like sports and media, this is not a 9 to 5 world.
